Purpose Of This Training
Fall Protection training is designed to help employees understand the severe risk of injury when working at heights. If your employees are working at any height above 10 feet, they should have the best knowledge of the risks involved and how to protect themselves.
What Is Meant By “Fall Arrest”?
The name ‘Fall Arrest System’ is given to the group of equipment, components, and systems used to stop a fall when a worker is working at heights.
A Fall Arrest System should only be used when other methods of fall protection are not available or possible, including engineering controls (e.g., elevated platform), guardrails, safety nets or travel restraints.
The safety of the people is the highest law.

A Fall Arrest System Should:
- be designed to keep the free fall distance as short as possible
- keep the forces of the fall on the worker reasonable
- be designed to protect the worker from striking other surfaces when falling
- protect from pendulum or swing falls.
